The Psychology Department at the University of South Florida invites
applications for a tenure-track position in Cognitive Science. We seek an
applicant with a strong research program in any area of cognitive or
perceptual psychology. Strong computational modeling skills are
especially desired. A commitment to excellence in undergraduate and
graduate teaching is expected. The Ph.D. is required by time of
appointment. A history of external funding is required for advanced-level
candidates. The position begins August of 1998 and is contingent on
funding. Salary is negotiable and competitive, and the teaching load is
supportive of a productive research program. The Psychology Department is
a dynamic force in a growing university and will be moving into a new,
state of the art research facility. The University of South Florida,
thirteenth largest in the nation, is located in a very desirable area for
cultural and recreational pursuits. Applications from women and members
