--Integrated Master's and Doctoral Degree Program --
· The multidisciplinary program in neural & behavioural sciences links
basic science and clinical research. It is organized by members of the
faculties of Medicine and Biology and of the Max-Planck-Institutes.
· Lectures, courses and laboratory training will be provided by
scientists whose research interests are mainly in vertebrate
neuroscience covering genetic, molecular, cellular, developmental,
clinical, psychophysical, behavioural and cognitive approaches to the
· The program is international. Applicants should have a strong
background in natural sciences and hold one of the following degrees:
Bachelor of Science (or German equivalent) in biology, biochemistry,
chemistry, computer sciences, medicine, pharmacology, physics or
psychology. Priority is given to excellence based on grades and work
experience. Teaching is in English. Tuition fees not required.
· During the Masters studies (2 years), intensive training
in all major aspects of neural & behavioural sciences will be
provided. Successful completion will qualify for entry into a doctoral
program (3 years). After submission of a thesis, the degree
'Dr.rer.nat. in Neural & Behavioural Sciences' will be awarded.
