An enthusiastic clinical scientist is required to help a busy team provide a paediatric visual electrophysiology service dealing with a wide range of disorders affecting the eye and brain. This post will involve mainly recording ERGs, VEPs and EOGs from young children. There is scope for developing visual psychophysical assessments, ultrasonography and participation in eye movement recordings.
Previous experience in clinical visual electrophysiology is important, as is a background in the implementation and write-up of research projects. Computer programming skills are desirable. We are particularly looking for a post-doctoral candidate who is a registered clinical scientist, but graduates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply. Suitable graduate candidates would have the possibility of registering for a PhD at the Institute of Child Health, University of London.
The post is in the NHS Clinical Scientist career structure (Grade B 17-19) with the possibility of an appointment within the spine points B 08-16 depending on qualification and experience. Salary range between ?21,013 - ?27,917 p.a inc. Candidates entering the B-grade at spine points 11 and higher are expected to be registered with the State Board of Clinical Scientists.
