PERCEPTUAL AND SACCADIC DECISIONS DURING SEARCH
The Vision & Image Understanding laboratory at the Department of Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara is currently looking for a postdoctoral researcher to participate in a project in cooperation with NASA Ames Research Center (Leland Stone and Brent Beutter) investigating perceptual decisions and eye movements during visual search in symbolic and realistic displays with a strong emphasis on computational modeling. The position is for one year with option of reappointment on an annual basis in accordance with applicable personnel policies and availability of funding. Doctoral degree required. Preference will be given to candidates with programming experience, training in psychophysics, and familiarity with signal detection theory. Start dates are flexible. Information about the Vision & Image Understanding laboratory is accessible at http://www.psych.ucsb.edu/~eckstein/lab/vp.html and about vision science research at the University of California, Santa Barbara at http://www.psych.ucsb.edu/research/vision/.

    POST-DOCTORAL POSITION II
PERCEPTION, IMAGE QUALITY EVALUATION AND OPTIMIZATION OF MEDICAL IMAGES

The Vision & Image Understanding laboratory at the Department of Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara is currently looking for a postdoctoral researcher to participate in a NIH sponsored project developing computer based models of visual detection/classification of lesions in medical images. These models are to be used for automated evaluation and optimization of medical image quality. The position is for one year with option of reappointment on an annual basis in accordance with applicable personnel policies and availability of funding. The ideal candidate should have programming experience, training in image processing, and familiarity with human vision and/or medical imaging. Starting dates are flexible.
