OPEN RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITION

Applications are now being accepted for a one- or two-year full-time
research assistant position in the Vision and Cognition Lab in the
Department of Psychology at Boston College.  Boston College is a leading
national Jesuit, Catholic university, enrolling 9,000 undergraduates and
close to 5,000 graduate and professional students. Located six miles from
downtown Boston, the University has approximately 680 full-time faculty and
2,300 full-time employees, an operating budget of $767 million, and an
endowment of $1.5 billion.*  *Research in the Vision and Cognition Lab is
aimed at understanding the neural mechanisms of visual perception and
cognition, using both human neuroimaging (fMRI) and behavioral techniques;
the successful applicant will have the opportunity to receive extensive
training in these approaches.  Responsibilities of the position will include
the development and implementation of experimental designs, neuroimaging and
behavioral data collection and analysis, and assistance in writing research
reports.   A bachelors degree in psychology, neuroscience, or a related
field is required, and programming experience (e.g., Matlab) and/or a
background in vision research is desirable.   The anticipated start date of
this position is summer 2010.  Salary will be commensurate with experience.
