human perception and cognition in the design, analysis, and use of computer-based
media systems. Over the years, it has brought together researchers from
a wide variety of disciplines, from all over the world, for a rich and
lively exchange of ideas. </font><font size=2 face="sans-serif">Visual,
perceptual, and cognitive issues are explored across a wide range of topics,
including displays, image compression and coding, semantic image
libraries, multi-sensory systems, virtual reality, visualization, art and
aesthetics. Conference abstracts are <i>peer reviewed</i>; associated
papers are published in the </font><a href="http://spiedl.aip.org/journals/doc/SPIEDL-home/proc/"><font size=2 color=blue face="sans-serif"><u>Proceedings
