Dear colleagues,
As many of you hopefully know already, the *19th International Symposium
on Multispectral Color Science* (MCS2017) will be organized as a part of
IS&T's 25th Color and Imaging Conference (CIC2017), which will take
place in Lillehammer, Norway on September 11-15, 2017.
The paper submission procedures will be fully integrated with the normal
CIC process. See the CIC
<https://www.imaging.org/site/IST/Conferences/Color_and_Imaging/IST/Conferences/CIC/CIC_Home.aspx>
home page and CFP
<https://www.imaging.org/site/PDFS/Conferences/CIC/CIC25_Call_for_Papers.pdf>
for details.
Key points to retain include:
* Deadline for 4-6 page manuscript submission, March 1, 2017
* Final papers due July 11, 2017
* JIST-first option available; double publication in journal and
proceedings; submit final journal paper by March 1, 2017
* Make sure to choose the category "Multispectral Imaging" or
"MCS2017" when submitting your papers
The 19th International Symposium on Multispectral Color Science builds
on a tradition started at Chiba University in 1999, bringing together
researchers from all over the world in the field of spectral color
science and imaging. While on a few occasions MCS has been organized as
a standalone event (e.g. in Taipei in 2007), mostly our strategy is to
integrate with other established conferences in related fields, such as
AIC, SCIA, ICISP, and now for the second time, CIC. This year we expect
fruitful synergies not only with the regular CIC program, but also with
the three workshops on cultural heritage, virtual reality, and medical
imaging, where spectral aspects are certainly relevant.
The MCS Steering Committee consists of Francisco Imai (USA), Jon Y.
Hardeberg (Norway), Markku Hauta-Kasari (Finland), Bernhard Hill
(Germany), Alamin Mansouri (France), Yoichi Miyake (Japan), Jussi
Parkkinen (Finland), Norimichi Tsumura (Japan), Philipp Urban (Germany),
and Shoji Tominaga (Japan). Chair of MCS2017 is Prof. Jon Y. Hardeberg.
I hope to see many of you in scenic Lillehammer!
Best Regards,
Jon Y. Hardeberg
