*Specifications*
Work place: Fribourg, Switzerland. Collaborative network: Tokyo, Japan.
Starting date: 1st of June 2017 at the earliest - 1st of September 2017 at
the latest.
80% post-doctoral position. Swiss salaries are competitive.
*Job description*
This position is attached to a strategic Japanese-Swiss Science and
Technology Programme awarded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, to
collaborate with Prof. Katsumi Watanabe (Wasada University, Tokyo) and
Prof. Masami Yamaguchi (Chuo University, Tokyo). The research project will
focus on adults and infants, and involves psychophysical tasks, eye
movements, EEG and functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy, with the aim to
investigate the neural bases of cultural diversity in the decoding of
facial expressions of emotion. This project also involves the coordination
of the research, visits and exchanges between the Swiss and Japanese
institutions.
*Qualifications and Requirements*
We seek a postdoctoral candidate with a Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience
or a related field, with a strong interest in signal processing,
neurophysiological measures and development, and with solid programming and
statistical skills with MATLAB or R. The ideal candidate would have
experience in infant and/or neuroimaging studies. Prior knowledge of the
emotion research area is an advantage, but it is not mandatory. Highly
motivated individuals, with excellent communication and organizational
skills, able to work independently and as part of a team, with a record of
productive research are encouraged to apply.
Speaking French or German is an advantage, but not a requirement. The
working language is English.
