 Dear Colleagues,

We would be grateful if you would pass along this announcement to any individuals or networks you think might be interested in participating in this workshop in August. We want to especially highlight the possibility for students and postdocs to receive funding for conference attendance from the Experimental Psychology Society.

***final call ***

We are excited to announce the 2017 Social Robotics workshop entitled ‘The Emerging Social Neuroscience of Human-Robot Interaction’, to be held at Bangor University in picturesque North Wales from 17-18 August 2017. The aim of this workshop is to bring together disciplinary expertise in psychology, neuroscience, and social robotics to discuss the latest findings, current challenges and exciting possibilities relevant to understanding and optimising how humans perceive and interact with artificial agents.

The workshop will feature an eclectic mix of keynote lectures, talks and poster presentations. Keynote speakers include Martin Giese (University of Tübingen), Ayşe Saygin (UCSD), Thierry Chaminade (Aix-Marseille University) and Goren Gordon (Tel-Aviv University).

For the complete list of speakers, further information and registration, see www.so-bots.com/workshop<http://www.so-bots.com/workshop>.

The deadline for poster submission is extended. Join the discussion and present your latest work on social behaviour, perception, HRI, or any other topic that might inform how humans might effectively perceive and interact with artificial agents. A 200-word abstract should be submitted through the form below by the closing date of 15 June 2017.

Students and postdocs are particularly encouraged to attend, with up to five £200 travel bursaries available to the best abstracts/poster presentations to offset the costs of meeting attendance.

Early-career researchers are also eligible to apply for a Grindley Grant for conference attendance from the Experimental Psychology Society. Please visit the EPS website for more information: http://www.eps.ac.uk/index.php/grindley-grants-for-conference-attendance. Please note, the application deadline for the Grindley Grants is 2 August (2 weeks before the start of the workshop).

More information can be found at the workshop website - www.so-bots.com/workshop<http://www.so-bots.com/workshop>

Bangor is easy to reach by both train and car. There is a direct train from London (<3.5 hours), as well as frequent services from the rest of the UK including Manchester and Liverpool.

We look forward to welcoming you to Bangor in August!
