Apologies for cross-posting.
The Department of Psychology at New Mexico State University invites
applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position in
Engineering Psychology/Human Factors starting in Fall 2018. NMSU is home to
the nation’s oldest Unmanned Aircraft Systems Test Site and is the only
land-grant university classified as both a Carnegie Higher Research
Activity Institution and a Hispanic Serving Institution. We seek someone
whose research interests are in Human Factors, Engineering Psychology,
Applied Cognition, or Information Science. We are especially interested in
applicants with a background in the human factors of unmanned/autonomous
systems, healthcare human factors, HCI, HSI, risk assessment, or other
applications of cognitive psychology. We seek applicants with a record of
applying for external funding whose program of research will make a
significant impact in their specialty area. Candidates who can demonstrate
clear connections to extant faculty research lines or the potential for
creative transdisciplinary collaboration within and across departments are
preferred. The successful applicant will have demonstrated the capability
and a desire to mentor MA and PhD students and to teach
graduate/undergraduate courses in engineering psychology, applied/cognitive
psychology, statistics, and/or research methods. A Ph.D. in Psychology (or
closely related field) with an emphasis in engineering psychology, human
factors, or applied cognition, is required in-hand by the hire date. The
application deadline is October 6, 2017. Please submit a current curriculum
vitae, letters describing research and teaching experience and interests,
relevant publication reprints/preprints, unofficial transcripts of the
highest degree earned (or in-progress), and three letters of recommendation
via http://jobs.nmsu.edu/postings/28976. New Mexico State University is an
Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. Offer of employment is
contingent upon verification of applicable credentials, criminal and other
