COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGIST

The Department of Psychology at Penn State (*http://psych.la.psu.edu/
<http://psych.la.psu.edu/>*) is recruiting for a colleague in our cognitive
psychology program (*http://psych.la.psu.edu/graduate/program-areas/cognitive
<http://psych.la.psu.edu/graduate/program-areas/cognitive>*) for a tenure
track position starting August 2018. Rank is open, but we are likely to
hire at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The ideal candidate
will hold a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology or a related field, have a strong
record of publications in top outlets, have a history of or clear potential
for external funding, and have demonstrated or show clear potential for
excellence in teaching. We especially welcome candidates who can contribute
to one or more of the cross-cutting emphases within our department:
Neuroscience/Biological Bases of Behavior, Culture and Context,
Applied/Translational Research, and Quantitative Methods. Areas of
specialization within cognitive psychology are open and may include (but
are not limited to) such topics as cognitive control, language science,
memory, attention, perception, and decision making. Rich opportunities
exist for collaboration within the department and across campus, and a
record of collaboration is desirable. Current faculty in the cognitive area
are active in units including the Center for Language Sciences
