The Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences at Boston University invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the systems neuroscience of cognition and behavior in animal models (rodents), to begin July 2018. We are searching broadly in this field, and encourage applications from researchers using one or more cutting-edge methodologies such as calcium imaging, optogenetics, and recording of large populations of neurons to study any aspect of the neural mechanisms of behavior. Researchers will join an interdisciplinary team of systems neuroscientists studying the neural basis of complex behavior in our departmental Brain, Behavior, and Cognition Program and the Center for Systems Neuroscience. The candidate must be committed to establishing a vigorous, externally supported program of research, a strong publication record, and a strong teaching record. The successful candidate will teach courses and engage in research training at both the undergraduate and graduate level. We offer a competitive salary, startup funding, and modern laboratory facilities.

Applications will only be accepted at Academic Jobs Online. Applicants should upload a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching experience and interests, a statement of research interests, copies of three representative scholarly papers, and three letters of reference.

The deadline for applications is Nov. 1, 2017. Inquiries may be directed to Michaela Federico, Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences, Boston University, 64 Cummington Mall, Boston, MA 02215 (mjfed at bu.edu<mailto:mjfed at bu.edu>).
