[visionlist] Postdoc Position in Cognitive Neuroscience at UMass Amherst

Applications are invited for an NIH BRAIN Initiative postdoctoral 
position in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the 
University of Massachusetts Amherst, under the supervision of Dr. Rosie 
Cowell (http://people.umass.edu/cmap-lab/) and Dr. David Huber 
(http://people.umass.edu/dehuber/). The funded research will develop and 
validate a novel technique for mathematically inferring the operations 
of neural subpopulations that contribute to the voxel response in fMRI 
experiments. This research will use a combination of neurocomputational 
modeling, fMRI experiments, and psychophysical experiments in the 
domains of vision, attention, and perceptual learning.

The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology, 
cognitive science, cognitive neuroscience, neuroscience, or 
statistical/mathematical modeling of behavioral or biological data. 
Programming experience and excellent quantitative and statistical skills 
are required. Initial appointment is for 2 years, renewable for up to 
two more years, contingent upon excellent performance. Post-doctoral 
research associates at the University of Massachusetts are unionized and 
receive standard salary and benefits, depending on experience.
