A Doctoral research position
Salary and benefits are according to a public service position in Germany (TV-H E 13,
65 % of full time working time). The position is available at 1st of December for a period of 36 months under reserve of financial approval by the DFG. Subject to the extension of the term of the project by the German Research Foundation, the position will be available up to a maximum period of up to 3 years and will offer the possibility of further scientific qualification in the frame of the assigned duties.
The IRTG BrainAct is a joint doctoral research and training program of two German and three Canadian Universities: University of Giessen; University of Marburg; Queen's University, Kingston; Western University, London; and York University, Toronto. A significant part of each research project (obligatory for several months) will be performed at the partner site in Canada. The job profile involves research in the field of Experimental Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience. The successful candidate will work on projects investigating potential biomarkers in neurodegenerative disorders (e.g. Parkinson's disease) with methods like e.g. eye tracking, behavioral methodology or MRT. Our group is equipped with an eye tracker lab. The job profile also involves publishing in international scientific journals and presenting results at international conferences.
We seek applicants with a diploma or a master's degree in Cognitive Neuroscience, Psychology, or a related field and a strong background in Experimental Psychology. A solid grounding in Experimental Psychology, and Cognitive Neuroscience and strong computer programming and statistical skills, as well as experience in cognitive neuroscience methodologies (e.g., Eye Tracking, behavioral data), and experience in presenting scientific work at international conferences and/or in international scientific journals are desirable.
