Anne Treisman was my graduate advisor. She was a simply a brilliant, insightful psychologist. She embodied the rare combination of meticulous experimentalist and bold theoretician. She will probably be best remembered for Feature Integration Theory, which set the research agenda for my field from the day it was published in 1980 through the current day, and for blazing a trail as a woman in science when the barriers were even greater than they are today. But I will remember her best as a wise and generous mentor who helped shape the scientist I am today. Thank you, Anne.
