We will be holding the AVA (Applied Vision Association) Spring and Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Bradford on Monday 26 of March 2018.

T

his is a friendly one-day meeting to be held at the new Optometry and Vision Sciences<https://www.bradford.ac.uk/the-eye-clinic/how-to-find-us/> facilities at the University of Bradford<http://internal.bradford.ac.uk/>. We welcome submissions from all areas of applied research in human and animal vision such as clinical, computational, perceptual and occupational. Registration and posters will open at 10:30 am with the first keynote at noon. The meeting will end at around 5pm with a drinks reception afterwards followed by a visit to the amazing sensory exhibit wonderlab<https://www.scienceandmediamuseum.org.uk/whats-on/wonderlab> at the National Science and Media Museum<https://www.scienceandmediamuseum.org.uk/about-us> and optional dinner in one of the excellent local curry restaurants. We have two distinguished keynote speakers: Professor Jenny Rea<https://www.jennyreadresearch.com/>d will give the Geoffrey J Burton Memorial Lecture<http://www.theava.net/awards/gjburton.php> and Professor Andrew Stockman<https://iris.ucl.ac.uk/iris/browse/profile?upi=ASTOC88> the CRS Lecture<http://www.crsltd.com/>.


The College of Optometrists<https://www.college-optometrists.org/> is supporting the meeting by sponsoring two best presentation prizes (poster or talk, £200 ea), one being specifically for the best presentation by an early career researcher.
