The laboratory of Brad Wyble at The Pennsylvania State University invites
applications for an NSF-funded postdoctoral position. The key aim of our
research is to understand the neural mechanisms of visual attention that
extract meaningful representations from visual input. The lab’s
multi-disciplinary approach is centered on computational neuroscience, with
models informed by experiments involving psychophysics, EEG, virtual
reality and eye tracking.

The ideal applicant will have a PhD in psychology, neuroscience, computer
science, or a related field, a background that includes computer
programming experience, and an interest in understanding the foundational
mechanisms linking vision, attention and memory. We are looking for a
postdoc interested in conducting research that involves a tight coupling of
neural decoding and computational models of neural function related to
these topics. Applicants with other interests will be considered as well.
The lab’s ongoing research and recent publications are detailed at
http://wyblelab.com.

The position is funded for two years, with a possible extension to three
years. Salary and benefits follow NSF/NIH guidelines. Applicants should
submit an application online at https://psu.jobs/job/77797 and should
include as attachments a CV, several reprints, and a 1-2 page statement of
research interests. This statement should describe the candidate`s goals
for research and training during a postdoctoral position, including
previous experience. Applicants should arrange for two letters of
recommendation to be sent separately to wyblepostdoc at gmail.com. Review of
applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is
filled. Please feel free to contact Brad Wyble (bwyble at gmail.com) if you
have any questions prior to applying.

We encourage applications from individuals of diverse backgrounds. Employment
will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance
with University policies. Penn State is committed to affirmative action,
equal opportunity, and diversity of its workplace
