Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network Fellowship/Studentship at the University of Oxford
Department of Experimental Psychology, Anna Watts Building, Woodstock Road, Oxford
From: £29,543 p.a.

A fellowship position is available for a period of 3 years, tenable at Oxford University, on a project entitled “Adding a splash of colour: Exploiting inter- and intra-personal differences in colour vision to maximise colour experience from displays”.

The successful candidate will be registered for PhD training while employed by the University on a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network, and will be expected to design and run psychophysical tests of colour perception, with specific emphasis on understanding individual differences. Calibrated stimuli will be presented via bespoke optical setups in the Oxford Perception Lab or on state-of-the-art displays in collaboration with our industrial partners BARCO. Candidates must possess a good degree in a relevant subject plus strong programming skills (e.g. MatLab/Python), and should have experience of human colour vision, display technology and psychophysics.

The EC funding for this position provides for a remuneration starting from £29,543 p.a. Actual salary will depend on employer deductions, personal circumstances and the exchange rate applicable to the fellowship. This amount includes an annual living allowance and a mobility allowance (to cover the expenses associated with working in a different country). Under the terms of the EC funding, which aims to promote mobility within the research community, to be eligible for the post you must not have been resident in the UK for more than a total of 12 months in the past 3 years. Persons who have obtained a doctorate or had more than 4 years full time research experience are ineligible. The start date is 8 October 2018.
