[visionlist] Registration Open: Autonomous Vehicles conference: The Eye, The Brain, The Auto

Registration is now open for The Eye, The Brain, & The Auto World Congress which will focus uniquely on the autonomous vehicle. The three-day event October 7-9, 2018 will be hosted by the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology (DIO), the research arm of Henry Ford Health System’s Department of Ophthalmology. The mission of The Eye, The Brain, & The Auto is to advance the relationship between vision and the brain, and the safe operation of a motorized vehicle.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, human error is a primary cause of 94% of all traffic accidents, and it’s widely believed that autonomous vehicles will greatly reduce the number of crashes, potentially lessening the burden on the healthcare industry. Additionally, autonomous vehicles and ride-sharing programs are expected to emerge as a valuable resource for increased access to health related visits.
