The University of Nevada, Reno, Department of Psychology invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor in Cognitive Neuroscience, to serve as Director of the University's Neuroimaging Core Facility. In addition to their regular faculty appointment, the successful applicant will lead in the development, implementation, and support of cutting-edge neuroimaging techniques and analyses at the university as Director of the Neuroimaging Core, part of an NIH Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) for Integrative Neuroscience (www.unr.edu/neuroscience/center<http://www.unr.edu/neuroscience/center>). The core provides excellent access and support for a wide range of neuroimaging resources including 3T fMRI, high-density EEG, fNIRS, Adaptive Optics, and High Performance Computing. The Director will oversee the operation and strategic planning for the core. The position includes competitive start-up, as well as compensation for the administrative duties of the directorship.



Applicants should have a strong record of research and demonstrated potential for extramural funding in advanced neuroimaging paradigms and computational analyses including fMRI, as well as interest and ability to oversee a multifaceted research core.



The university has made a major investment in building Neuroscience as an area of strategic growth, including many new faculty lines and the development of both undergraduate and graduate training programs. The advertised position is part of the graduate programs in Integrative Neuroscience (www.unr.edu/neuroscience/graduate-program<https://www.unr.edu/neuroscience/graduate-program>) and Cognitive and Brain Sciences (groups.unr.edu/unr_psych_cbs/CBS_grad_program<https://groups.unr.edu/unr_psych_cbs/CBS_grad_program>). Teaching responsibilities include training and seminars in the graduate programs, and undergraduate courses for both the Psychology and Neuroscience majors. The Psychology Department currently includes 10 labs focused on visual neuroscience and visual cognition, and individuals whose research builds on and complements this strength in vision science are especially encouraged to apply.
