laboratory network in the U.S.Essilor of America’s R&D Team is currently
looking for an accomplished Vision Scientist to pioneer a new research
group on our Dallas, TX, campus.Position DescriptionThe purpose of
Essilor’s Life and Vision Sciences Department is to conduct innovative
research on the visual system in order to design cutting-edge solutions for
our customers’ vision needs. We are looking for a dynamic Vision Science
expert to develop a research program on our Dallas campus that will
complement our operations in France and Singapore. Main
Tasks/Responsibilities - Establish partnerships with universities, labs and
other research institutions.- Conduct literature review and experiments on
the visual system. - Serve as our North American Subject Matter Expert on
Myopia, while monitoring trends in all areas of VS. - Represent Essilor at
conferences, symposia and other events. - Develop relationships with top
researchers throughout the United States.- Prepare materials for submission
to granting agencies and foundations. - Assemble and direct a team of
research specialists as we expand in the future. Qualifications - PhD in VS
is required.- International recognition in the ophthalmic world is
preferred.- At least 5 years of successful VS research experience, with
significant scientific contributions (publications, collaborations,
post-docs, etc.) in this domain.- Expert knowledge in research protocol,
patent writing and analysis.Competencies The Vision Scientist must be able
to: - Define research axes in coherence with company strategy, as well as
propose and follow thesis subjects.- Collaborate with members of multiple
working groups (whose range of skill levels and areas of professional
expertise could vary widely) in an international environment.  -
Demonstrate flexibility in assigning work to accommodate group and
individual goals.- Utilize relevant equipment/system software and operating
systems, as well as comfortably adapt to new technologies. - Effectively
communicate both in writing and verbally; fluency in French would be a
plus.  - Travel up to 35% - 40% annually (both domestically and
internationally).- Follow all federal, local and company safety training
