invites applications for a
Professorship in "Sensorimotor control & Learning" (W2/W3)
We are seeking an expert in the research area of sensorimotor control
and learning who will join us in developing further the new Centre for
Cognitive Science at Technische Universität Darmstadt. The professorship
is to be filled in the Department of Human Sciences and will complement
and interact with existing research activities in Cognitive Science at
Technische Universität Darmstadt. The Centre interacts strongly with the
engineering departments and, hence, we expect experience with
interdisciplinary collaborations. The Centre’s research programme is
based on computational and engineering approaches to Cognitive Science
and relevant research methodologies will include, but are not limited
to, theoretical studies, human experimental work, cognitive engineering
applications, the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence in
the modeling of human cognition and motor control, or ubiquitous
sensing. Successful appointees are expected to contribute to teaching in
the new Cognitive Science study programme (in particular, integrative
and interdisciplinary classes) and to other undergraduate and graduate
level courses in the Department of Human Sciences.
The position is tenured with a remuneration package commensurate with
experience and qualifications, following the German "W-Besoldung" and
subject to negotiations between the applicant and the university
directorate. The regulations for employment are specified under §§ 61
and 62 HHG (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz).
The Technische Universität Darmstadt intends to increase the number of
