Second call for the AVA Spring Meeting and Annual General Meeting, which will be held on 15th April 2019 at the Whittle Theatre, Cody Technology Park, Farnborough (Hampshire), UK.

All are encouraged to submit an abstract. Research on all aspects of vision is welcome.  Deadline for abstract submission is 18:00 on 11th March 2019.


The meeting will be held over one day and will include the following keynote speakers:

Sophie Wuerger (University of Liverpool) - The Geoffrey J Burton Lecture
Paul Hibbard (University of Essex)
Matt Dunn (Cardiff University) - Visual Perception in the Presence of Nystagmus

The meeting is being co-sponsored by the College of Optometrists and there will be a cash prize for the best poster and one for the best oral presentation, as well as an optometry-themed session as part of the meeting.

All abstracts will be peer reviewed and can be optionally published in the online journal iPerception, if the appropriate fee (an extra £10) is selected when registering.  The format for abstracts is given on the meeting website, below.

Farnborough is about 40 minutes from London by train, and well connected to the road network via the M3. Cody Technology Park is a pleasantly open, hi tech campus situated next to Farnborough Aerodrome (site of the Farnborough Airshow), occupying land that was formerly the Royal Aircraft Establishment, and historically the home of British aviation. The meeting is being hosted by QinetiQ Ltd.  Lunch and evening refreshments are included in the registration fee.


AVA members and members of the College of Optometrists can register at reduced rates, and the current 'early bird' fees apply up to 8th April.
