*Satellite 5: CAPnet CAN-ACN Satellite symposium “Perception and Action:
Integration, computation and application”*

*DATE*

May 26th, 2019, 9 am to 5 pm

*VENUE*

Offsite at York University campus, Toronto ON. (subway stop: York
University)

*PROGRAM*

This one-day satellite symposium focuses on the integration, computation
and application of perceptual and sensorimotor processes underlying the
control of vision and movement.

The symposium is organized by the Canadian Action and Perception Network
(CAPnet), a neuroscience research consortium that focuses on sensation,
perception, and movement control.

The satellite is open to everyone and will highlight presentations from
neuroscientists across Canada in talk sessions, a poster session, and a
keynote lecture, which will be given by Dr. Jody Culham (Western
University).

This meeting is be an excellent opportunity to meet with and present your
work to other trainees and PI’s working on basic, applied, and
computational research in perception and action.

The talk session themes and talks will be determined after abstract
submission, according to the topics of submitted abstracts and the
quality/fit of submitted abstracts. Abstracts not selected for talks will
be presented in poster format in one poster session.

The program will be available in April 2019

*PROGRAM COMMITTEE*

Denise Henriques (York U., co-chair), Aarlenne Khan (U. Montreal.,
co-chair), Steven Prime (U. Saskatchewan), Erin Cressman (U. Ottawa), Erez
Freud (York U.), Claudia Gonzalez (U. Lethbridge)

*ABSTRACT SUBMISSION*

Satellite abstracts can be the same as, or different from, those submitted
to the main CAN‐ACN meeting. The number of oral presentations is limited
(approx. 20) and will be selected by the program committee based on the
excellence and novelty of the abstract, fit of the topic with the satellite
theme, and to maximize the number of labs presenting. A preference for
poster or talk should be included in the abstract submission. Talks will be
15 minutes long (including questions). Two trainee awards, one for best
talk and one for best poster, will be presented at the end of the satellite.

Abstracts should be written in CAN‐ACN format (250 words max)

Closing date for abstract submission: April 1st, 2019
