PhD Program in Computer Science and Systems Engineering at the Department of Informatics, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems Engineering (DIBRIS), University of Genova, Italy
Deadline for the application: JUNE 12, 2019, 12 am (Italian Time)

We are seeking motivated candidates for multiple PhD positions to work on Machine Learning and Computer Vision topics. All the research activities will be carried out at the University of Genova within a new Machine Learning center (ml.unige.it <https://ml.unige.it/>).  The MaLGa center hosts 10 faculties and 30 PhD students + postdocs and provides a lively and dynamic work environment. Genova sits amidst of the Italian riviera and offer excellent life quality. 

 Of particular interest are the following themes:
Time-series analysis in industrial and energy production applications (supported by Axpo)

Efficient  algorithms for large scale structured machine learning (supported by an ERC consolidator grant) 
Joint segmentation, detection, tracking in video sequences for efficient and effective scene understanding

Making motion analysis computationally efficient
