A full-time position is available to manage research activities in the Virtual Environment Navigation Lab (VENLab) at Brown University. Duties include coordinating workflow in the lab, supervising undergraduate research assistants, coordinating processing and analysis of large datasets, managing computer and VR equipment, and assisting in the preparation and performance of VR experiments. The VENLab is under the direction of Dr. William H. Warren, Department of Cognitive, Linguistic & Psychological Sciences, Brown University, Providence, RI, USA. The start date is between July 15 - September 1, 2019.

The NIH-supported project investigates the visual control of pedestrian and crowd behavior in dynamic environments, with the aim of formulating a vision-based pedestrian model. The results will be used to design and evaluate a sensory-substitution device for guiding locomotion using a vibro-tactile belt. The research makes use of virtual reality techniques, kinematic data analysis, and dynamical modeling.
