Dear colleagues,
we are proud to announce that the Department of Psychology at Giessen
University awarded the 2019 Kurt-Koffka medal to Prof. Dan Kersten from
the University of Minnesota.
Dan will receive the medal and give a talk on “The scientific power
of a perceptual demonstration” this Wednesday, June 26, in lecture
hall A1 of the Phil I campus in Giessen.
The Kurt-Koffka award is meant to honor scientists who advanced the
fields of perception or developmental psychology to an extraordinary
extent. The award reminds of Kurt Koffka, who is well-known as a
pioneer of Gestalt Psychology, in particular in the fields of perception
and child development. Koffka was Professor of Psychology in Giessen
for 16 years, from 1911 to 1927.
