[visionlist] Mathematics if Vision, Oct. 2019 Fields workshop

We are pleased to announce an October 2019 workshop entitled 
"Mathematics of Vision" (MoV) to take place at the Fields Institute in 
Toronto, Ontario (Canada). This two-day event will feature several 
invited speakers:

+ Tatyana Sharpee (Physics, UC San Diego & Salk Institute)
+ Stephanie Palmer (Biology and Physics, U. of Chicago)
+ Richard Zemel (Computer Science, U. of Toronto, Vector Institute)
+ Odelia Schwartz (Computer Science, U. of Miami)
+ Alexandre Pouget (Neuroscience, U. of Geneva)
+ Lai-Sang Young (Mathematics, Courant Institute, NYU)

The aim is to have a broad audience, spanning the life sciences, 
computer vision, applied mathematics, etc.... Further, we encourage 
everyone from undergraduate/graduate students all the way to established 
experts to attend and actively participate. The first day will be 
tutorial in nature, introducing key mathematical foundations relevant to 
vision science. The second day will focus on cutting-edge research 
presented by the invited speakers, as well as contributed posters, and 
allow ample time for discussion.

The event will take place on Oct. 17 & 18, 2019 and will be open to all 
interested participants. There is a nominal registration fee, as well as 
an optional dinner event on the evening of Oct. 18). Travel funding will 
also be available on a competitive basis for students and trainees 
outside the Greater Toronto Area who are interested in attending. More
