Dear Colleagues,

We would like to cordially invite you to submit a paper to the Special Issue
"Home Ambient Intelligent System" Applied Sciences Journal JCR Impact
Factor: 2.217. Deadline: 30th November, 2019

CFP:

Over the last few years, there has been an increasing interest in the
creation of intelligent homes using machine learning and deep learning
methods combined with multimodal information processing techniques, embedded
hardware, and domestic robots. This Special Issue is designed to provide
researchers and developers with the opportunity to publish original,
innovative, and state-of-the-art algorithms and architectures for home
ambient intelligence real-time applications, with emphasis in the areas of
computer vision, image processing, biometrics, virtual and augmented
reality, neural networks, intelligent interfaces, and biomimetic
object-vision recognition.

This Special Issue provides a platform for academics, developers, and
industry-related researchers belonging to the vast communities of Neural
Networks, Computational Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning,
Biometrics, Vision Systems, and Robotics. The objective is to integrate
interdisciplinary studies and research, applying machine learning and deep
learning methods in vision and robotics to benefit society.

The methods and tools applied to vision and robotics include but are not
limited to, the following:

*	Computational intelligence methods
*	Machine learning methods
*	Self-adaptation, self-organisation, and self-supervised learning
*	Robust computer vision algorithms (operation under variable
conditions, object tracking, behaviour analysis and learning, scene
segmentation)
*	Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN)
*	Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN)
*	Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL)
*	Hardware implementation and algorithms acceleration (GPUs, FPGA,s,.)
*	The fields of application can be identified as (but are not limited
to) the following:
*	Video and image processing
*	Video tracking
*	3D scene reconstruction
*	3D tracking in virtual reality environments
*	3D volume visualisation
*	Intelligent interfaces (user-friendly man-machine interface)
*	Multimodal human pose recovery and behaviour analysis
*	Gesture and posture analysis and recognition
*	Biometric identification and recognition
*	Extraction of biometric features (fingerprint, iris, face, voice,
palm, gait)
*	Surveillance systems
*	Robotic vision
*	Assistive healthcare
*	Autonomous and social robots
*	IoT and cyber-physical systems

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com
<https://www.mdpi.com/>  by registering
<https://www.mdpi.com/user/register/> and logging in to this website
<https://www.mdpi.com/user/login/> . Once you are registered, click here to
go to the submission form
<https://susy.mdpi.com/user/manuscripts/upload/?journal=applsci> .
Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be
peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal
(as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue
website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications
are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100
words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be
under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings
papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind
peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for
submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors
<https://www.mdpi.com/journal/applsci/instructions>  page.
