Due to popular demand, the deadline for submissions to the special issue of Vision Research on “Coding Strategies in Binocular Vision and Stereopsis” has been extended to March 31st 2020. Note however that articles submitted to the special issue will be published as soon as they are accepted.
The special issue emphasizes new ideas and evidence pertaining to general strategies of coding in binocular vision and stereopsis. The focus is on how information from the two eyes is integrated, and how this information may be optimized for coding efficiency to serve functions such as binocular summation, binocular difference detection and stereopsis. We invite original research articles as well as mini-reviews from any methodological domain, e.g. psychophysics, neurophysiology, brain-imaging, theoretical neuroscience and computational modelling.
The special issue is being edited by Frederick Kingdom, Jenny Read, Paul Hibbard and Keith May.
