POSTDOCTORAL POSITION AT NEW YORK UNIVERSITY
A postdoctoral position will become available in the Department of
Psychology and Center for Neural Science at New York University in the
coming months. The position is for an NIH-funded research project
concerned with multisensory cue integration, including vision, audition,
touch and proprioception. Theoretical issues include the role of
uncertainty in cue integration, use of priors, causal inference, cue
recalibration and confidence judgments. Techniques include computational
neuroscience modeling, psychophysics and fMRI, especially involving forward
models. The work is primarily in the lab of Michael Landy, and will include
close collaboration with David Heeger (primarily on computational neural
models) and Jonathan Winawer (primarily on brain-imaging research).
Experience in any of these areas (psychophysics, computational modeling,
fMRI) is required, but skill in any two would be even more helpful.
The NYU perception group is world-renowned, with dozens of faculty members
spanning several departments. It includes research in all areas of vision
science including psychophysics, computational and mathematical modeling
and physiology.
The appointment is initially for one year, renewable year by year for as
many as three years. An application should include a CV, sample
publications, and references. These should be sent to me directly and to
NYU's job application website: http://apply.interfolio.com/72977
