An exciting opportunity for post-doctoral research is available at the New England College of Optometry (NECO) on an NIH/NEI-funded project on eye-movement/gaze-contingent technology and retinal electrophysiology. This is a collaborative research project in translational vision science, retinal electrophysiology (ERGs), neuroscience, psychophysics and clinical optometry, as we aim to investigate the impact of eye movements on ERGs and develop techniques to improve the spatial resolution and accuracy of the recorded electrophysiological signal.

The post-doctoral fellow will be part of an interdisciplinary team of vision scientists (Drs. Thanasis Panorgias, Peter Bex, and Fuensanta Vera-Diaz). The successful applicant should hold a Ph.D. in Vision Science, Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science, or another relevant field.

Skills and Experience:

Strong programming skills (e.g., MatLab)
Experience with software/hardware interface
Background in eye-movement research or ERGs is desirable but not necessary (training will be provided as needed)
Experience with data collection and analysis
NECO is a small, dynamic institution located in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston, steps from MIT, Harvard, and Northeastern University, among others, allowing for unique collaborative research opportunities. The College has a strong commitment to vision research supported by several NIH grants, an NIH/NEI T35 training grant, industry, and internal funding. This is a full-time position, for up to two years, given satisfactory progress.
