---------------------------

Hello all,

This is a call for participation for TRECVID 2020. The TREC conference
series is sponsored by the National Institute of Standards and Technology
(NIST) with additional support from other U.S. government agencies. The
goal of TRECVID is to encourage content-based information retrieval in
videos by providing a large test collection, uniform scoring procedures,
and a forum for organizations interested in comparing their results.

This year we are running 6 tasks:

- Ad-hoc Video Search (given a text query, return the relevant set of
videos)
- Instance Search (given image examples of a specific person and action,
return the person doing the target action)
- Video to Text (generate a text caption describing a short (max 10 sec)
video. Also there is an optional task to match videos to their
corresponding descriptions)
- Video Summarization (generate a video summary of major life events for a
chosen actor in specific episode duration)
- Disaster Scene Description and Indexing (classify scenes after natural
disaster events using predefined labels)
- Activities in Extended Videos (activity detection from long videos
including human and/or object activities from surveillance cameras)

Please visit https://trecvid.nist.gov/ for more information. The detailed
call for participation is available at:
