The Spring and Annual General Meeting of the Applied Vision Association (AVA UK) will be held on 21 April 2020 at City, University of London.
The aim of this meeting is to encourage collaboration and communication between those working on applied and basic aspects of vision, whether it be in academic, business or other settings. All are encouraged to submit an abstract. Research on all aspects of vision is welcome.
The meeting will be held over one day and will include the following keynote addresses:
Burton Memorial lecture:  George Mather. Title: ‘Whose side are you on, ref?’ Applying vision science to football.
Charles Leek. Title: Deep neural networks: A new framework for understanding biological vision?
The College of Optometrists is once again pleased to offer two prizes – one for the best early career researcher presentation (poster or oral) and one for the best presentation (poster or oral). Each winner will receive a certificate and cheque for £200.
Location: The Oliver Thompson Lecture Theatre, City, University of London. Attendees are requested to use City's main entrance: 10 Northampton Square, London EC1V 0HB.
Abstract submission is via EasyChair.

Deadline 14 March.
Abstracts will be peer-reviewed and should cover previously unreported research involving any aspect of vision in humans, animals and machines. Abstracts can be optionally published in the online journal i-Perception, if the appropriate fee is selected when registering.  Abstracts must be in the standard format for ECVP/Perception.
References should be given in the body of the abstract in full, but without the title. e.g. (Rayner et al, 2001, Vis Res, 41, 943-954) and the abstract word limit is 250. Unless otherwise stated (at the end of the abstract), it will be assumed that the first author will be the presenting author.
