A postdoctoral position is available in the Dilks Lab<https://secure.web.emory.edu/psychology/dilks/main.php> in the Department of Psychology at Emory University. The position is for an NIH-funded research project concerned with understanding the neural mechanisms involved in our critical ability to recognize places or “scenes” (as well as objects and faces), from childhood to adulthood. Techniques include psychophysics, eye tracking, and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) in typical children, adults, and individuals with developmental disorders (i.e., Williams syndrome), as well as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) in typical adults.
We are seeking highly qualified individuals with a recent Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Psychology, Computer Science, Math) and shared interests in the core research area. Experience with fMRI is highly desirable, but not required; experience with other techniques such as TMS is also welcome. Proficiency in programming is necessary (e.g., Matlab or Python).
The initial appointment is for one year with the opportunity of renewal for additional years.
Applicants are required to send a CV, a brief statement of research interests, the expected date of availability, and the names and contact information of three references. Please apply using the following link: https://apply.interfolio.com/73989.
