[visionlist] PhD scholarship opportunity: Novel psychophysical paradigms for examining predictive coding in vision

An opportunity has arisen to work with Associate Professor Derek Arnold<https://psychology.uq.edu.au/profile/3160/derek-arnold> on his ARC grant, Novel psychophysical paradigms for examining predictive coding in vision. Human vision is shaped by predictive signals in the brain. This project seeks to establish and validate new psychophysical protocols for investigating predictive coding in human vision. Experiments may involve natural viewing and eye tracking, EEG recordings and data analyses.

Unfortunately, due to continuing COVID-19 related travel restrictions, applicants should only apply if they are already resident in Australia, or have Australian citizenship. We advance this restriction with great regret, but circumstances will not permit other applicants.

The successful applicant will develop a program of research in conjunction with A/Prof Derek Arnold, linked to the theme of the funded ARC grant - predictive coding in human vision.



Interested applicants should apply by 17 July 2020, for a prospective start in October 2020.
