POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN VISION SCIENCE – HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL

Dr. Jae-Hyun Jung at the Schepens Eye Research Institute/Mass Eye and Ear, Harvard Medical School is seeking applications for a postdoc fellow in vision science to study visual confusion, monocular & binocular rivalry, and AR/VR.
The goal of this newly starting NIH-funded project is to develop and test new monocular visual confusion devices (e.g., see-through AR/VR device) for field expansion and reveals the mechanism of visual confusion and impact of monocular/binocular rivalry.
Requirements include Ph.D. in an area related to vision science (e.g., psychology, computer science or engineering with experience in human vision research, etc.), computational skills and programming experience in vision experiments, testing of visual confusion or rivalry, and/or experience in any AR/VR HMD or simulator. Any experience of stereoscopic 3D displays or Unity game engine would be plus.
The start date is September 2020 but is flexible. The initial appointment would be for one year, with renewal opportunities for several additional years. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.

Schepens Eye Research Institute of Mass. Eye and Ear, Harvard Medical School is located in Boston with a strong research community of faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and research assistants with interdisciplinary backgrounds. The position also provides the opportunity to participate in the Schepens postdoc training program for scientific integrity and other general issues of interest to young scientists and also to develop additional collaborations with the research community at the Schepens, which includes multiple Center of Excellence in Harvard Medical School.
