Doctoral or Postdoctoral position in multi-stable perception: no-report paradigms and functional imaging.

Applications are invited for a doctoral or postdoctoral fellowship with Jochen Braun in Magdeburg, Germany. The research will investigate multi-stable perception in humans with no-report paradigms and with functional imaging (fMRI). Additionally, there will be the possibility of comparing experimental observations to computational models of perceptual dynamics.

Candidates must have a degree in physics (or similar), and strong quantitative and writing skills. Postdoctoral applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., neuroscience, physiology, physics). Prior experience with high-dimensional data analysis and/or with single- or multi-unit recordings from behaving vertebrates is desirable. Successful candidates will be required to assist teaching at the master level.

The initial appointment will be for two years with the possibility of renewal. Cognitive Biology is part of a large and vibrant neuroscience community (https://www.neuroscience-magdeburg.de/research/professor-jazz/ <https://www.neuroscience-magdeburg.de/research/professor-jazz/>). Magdeburg is a lively university town with a beautiful historical centre around the river Elbe and with convenient transport links to Leipzig and Berlin. To apply, please send a PDF file with a CV, a statement of research interests, and names of two references to jochen.braun at ovgu.de <mailto:jochen.braun at ovgu.de>.
