Contributions are invited for a multidisciplinary Frontiers Research Topic on human and animal vision under conditions of low visibility:

https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/15692/vision-in-limited-visibility-optical-properties-image-formation-and-evolutionary-adaptations-in-atte?utm_source=F-RTM&utm_medium=TED1&utm_campaign=PRD_TED1_T1_RT-TITLE

The Research Topic was inspired by problems of vision in foggy or underwater environments, but we welcome empirical and theoretical articles addressing a broad range of questions on the limits, adaptations, and corrections for visual processing under conditions of poor visibility due to properties of the environment or optical or neural properties or deficits of the observer.

The submission deadline is May 15, 2021. If you have questions about the topic or suitability of a manuscript please feel free to contact us.

Thanks from the Topic Editors,

Derya Akkaynak, Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, Florida Atlantic University
Iain Couzin, Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior
Nir Sapir. University of Haifa
Michael Webster, University of Nevada, Reno
