The mission of CEVR is to generate technologies to prevent vision loss in the aging population and preserve healthy vision.
Research study background:

Amblyopia is a neurodevelopmental disorder of vision that is often considered to be untreatable in adulthood due to a lack of visual cortex neuroplasticity in the mature brain. Recent evidence suggests that providing a clear image to the retina of the amblyopic eye using spectacles or contact lenses can cause a gradual improvement in monocular and binocular vision in adult patients. The aim of this study is to test this potential treatment approach for adults with amblyopia within a randomized clinical trial design. Functional and structural MRI will be used to explore the neural mechanisms that underpin the improvements in vision.
Required skills and job duty:
The appointees will assist the project leaders in the research project : "Recovering vision in amblyopia" The tasks include project development, study design/protocol, ethics applications, experimental setup, data collection, data analysis and preparation of manuscript.
