Dear colleagues,

We invite applications for a 3-years PhD position (75% f.t.e.) to
investigate *eye movements during human movement in aging*.

The position, funded by the German Research Foundation, aims to
understand how healthy older adults deploy their eye and head movements
during arm and whole-body actions. The project involves national and
international collaborations with partners at VU University Amsterdam
(Dr. Eli Brenner) and TU Munich (Prof. David Franklin). More information
about the position can be found here:

The position is part of the Perception & Action Group
the Psychology Department at JLU Giessen, Germany. Our department
is a growing and vibrant environment for excellent research in human
sensorimotor control, eye movements, and aging, to name a few. It offers
numerous opportunities for further training and collaboration, as it is
home to several high-profile funding lines (e.g., the cluster project 'The
Adaptive Mind <https://sites.google.com/view/theadaptivemind/home>', the
Collaborative Research Center (SFB/TRR 135) on Cardinal Mechanisms of
Perception <https://www.allpsych.uni-giessen.de/sfb/index-en/>, and the
IRTG 1901 The Brain in Action

The successful applicant should have a Master's degree in life- or natural
sciences, including psychology, sports sciences, engineering, or relevant.

*Applications should be sent by 20 July 2021* to Dr. Dimitris Voudouris (
dimitris.voudouris at psychol.uni-giessen.de) and should include a motivation
letter, CV, two reference letters, and scans of degree certificates.

*Informal inquires* about the position, department and further
opportunities are highly encouraged and I will be happy to read from you.

Best regards,
