Earlier this year we announced Dr. Kia Nobre as the 2021 OPAM keynote
speaker. Unforeseen scheduling conflicts due to changes in OPAM’s date have
resulted in Dr. Nobre being unable to speak at this year’s OPAM. However,
we are delighted to announce an excellent new keynote speaker for this year
with an exemplary history of visual cognition research and of supporting
early career researchers.
We are excited to announce Dr. Diane Beck as the OPAM 2021 Keynote Speaker!
Dr. Beck runs the Attention and Perception lab at the University of
Illinois, where she is a Professor of Psychology and a faculty member in
the Neuroscience Program and the Beckman Institute Cognitive Neuroscience
group. Dr. Beck’s research combines diverse methods including functional
magnetic resonance imaging, behavioral methods, and transcranial magnetic
stimulation to identify the cognitive processes and neural structures that
enable and limit our visual representations of the world. She is a Fellow
of the Association for Psychological Science, the recipient of numerous
teaching awards, and an active advocate for early career researchers in her
work with Females of Vision et al. (FoVea). More information about Dr.
Beck’s work is available on her lab website
<https://becklab.beckman.illinois.edu/>.
OPAM abstract submissions have closed for this year. Conference
registration will open later in the year. We are currently planning OPAM
2021 as a hybrid event, with both in-person and virtual components. We will
follow the Psychonomic Society’s lead on this matter and will provide
updates in the coming months. For timely updates, please join the OPAM
Group on Facebook <https://www.facebook.com/groups/1603991869879972/> or
follow us on Twitter <https://twitter.com/OPAMconference>!
OPAM runs solely on the support of generous sponsors. Sponsorship rates
begin at $225, which includes advertising space in the OPAM program,
website, and emails, and spotlight exposure during the conference. To learn
more about becoming a sponsor for OPAM 2021, please visit our website
<http://www.opam.net/?page_id=554> or e-mail us at opam.info at gmail.com. We
appreciate your support!
We look forward to seeing you at OPAM this year!
