The Department of Psychology at Lancaster University has two vacancies for full-time permanent Senior Lecturer/Reader positions.
We welcome applications from leading research scientists with proven ability to contribute to teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, who can consolidate or extend existing research strengths, and can build on our productive research and teaching collaborations across the University.
The Department of Psychology at Lancaster has a core complement of more than 40 members of academic staff and a thriving community of post-doctoral researchers and PhD students, based in four research groups (Infancy and Early Development, Language and Cognition, Perception and Action, Social Processes). We welcome applications that complement our existing strengths and can build on our productive research and teaching collaborations across the University. More details of our research groupings, interests, and facilities can be found here:http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/psychology/research/
You should have a track record of research and teaching excellence demonstrated by publications, research grant acquisition, engagement and/or socio-economic impact, and teaching and leadership experience, commensurate with stage of career. We are advocates of Open Science and have re-developed our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching curriculum to embed research reproducibility among students and extended our R-based teaching across the undergraduate curriculum.
Informal enquiries are welcome and should be addressed to Prof Kate Cain (email: psychology.hod at lancaster.ac.uk). Applications should be accompanied by a cover letter, stating whether you wish to be considered for Senior Lecturer or Readership level (no more than 2 pages), a full CV, and a brief outline (no more than 2 pages) of the programme of research you would undertake should you be appointed.
The Department of Psychology holds an Athena SWAN Bronze award and is committed to Lancaster University’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy and Widening Participation. We seek to provide a work environment that strongly supports women in academia and the individual needs of each employee, that promotes a healthy work-life balance, and we welcome applications from people in all diversity groups. Applicants are encouraged to detail any career breaks or significant periods of leave (e.g., for caring responsibilities) in the accompanying CV.
Interviews will be held over 24 & 25 January 2022.
