The Journal of Perceptual Imaging
<http://www.imaging.org/site/IST/Publications/Journals/JPI_About/IST/Publications/JPI.aspx?>
invites
you to submit a paper for the special issue commemorating the 75th
anniversary of the Society for Imaging Science and Technology
<https://www.imaging.org/site/ist>.  Our multidisciplinary community has
been associated with the IS&T for over 30 years, first through the Conference
on Human Vision and Electronic Imaging (HVEI
<https://www.imaging.org/Site/IST/Conferences/EI/EI_2022/Conference/C_HVEI.aspx?>)
and more recently, with the launch of JPI. This is a wonderful opportunity
to look back at the contributions vision and cognition research have made
to imaging, visualization and graphics systems and algorithms, and at the
rich fundamental research launched by questions posed by emerging
technologies and their applications. Experimental, computational,
theoretical and survey papers are welcome, across a wide spectrum of
domains and disciplines. For this issue, we are especially interested in
encouraging survey papers that explore the history of research at the
intersection of imaging and perception, and outline future research
opportunities and challenges.
