*Postdoc position in motion perception*

A two-year postdoc position to work with Mark Wexler
<http://wexler.free.fr/> at the Integrative Neuroscience and Cognition
Center <https://incc-paris.fr/> at the Université Paris Cité on (very fast)
motion perception.

Fast-moving objects leave streaks when they appear and disappear while in
motion, like shooting stars. However, when the object appears still before
and/or after the motion, even briefly, the smear is masked, the motion is
perceived as much slower, and the moving shape is perceived clearly. The
project involves studying the psychophysics of these phenomena in
collaboration with a consortium of neurophysiologists (Frédéric Chavane,
Olivier Marre) and computational modelers (Alain Destexhe, Bruno Cessac).
The goal is a better understanding of motion perception, and the relevance
of these phenomena for spatial stability during eye movements.

You should have experience in planning, programming, and analyzing
psychophysical experiments. Full technical autonomy including programming
is a must (we program in Python, Matlab also okay). The more stuff you know
how to do, the better. Experience with eyetrackers, modeling, and
electrophysiology will be a plus.

The lab is located at the Université Paris Cité in the center of Paris,
surrounded by a vibrant neuroscience and cognitive science community. There
are no language requirements except for a good grasp of English.

Please send any questions and submit applications (CV, publications, brief
statement of research interests and skills, and names of 2-3 references) to
Mark Wexler (mark.wexler at u-paris.fr).
