JOB DESCRIPTION

1-year Open position (Assegno di ricerca) at the cutting edge among Robotics, Computer Science and Bioengineering at the Department of Informatics, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems Engineering (DIBRIS), University of Genoa, Italy 
 
Annual gross salary € 23.250,00. The position may be renewed for a second year. 

  
We are seeking candidates for working on the project "ViVeLibre: Neuromorphic visual-inertial motion tracking in the wild” (CuriosityDriven2021, Internal Institutional Grant).  
 
The proposed job focuses on the development of wearable visual-inertial motion capture sensors based on neuromorphic event-based sensor to collect accurate kinematic data in real life situation, out from laboratory environments.

YOUR SKILLS
------------------------------------- 

A master degree in Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or equivalent is required. Although not mandatory, a PhD degree would be an add-on. 

The ideal applicant should be a recent PhD graduate in Computer Science, Robotics, or Bioengineering. They would have a solid background in 
Computer Vision, ROS and computer programming. Specific experience in neuromorphic vision would be a plus. Applicants should demonstrate the 
ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.

Established in May 2012, DIBRIS is a university structure where research and education are based on Computer Science and Technology, Bioengineering, Robotics, and Systems Engineering. The mission of DIBRIS is to promote and facilitate the creation (research), transmission (education), and technology transfer of knowledge in these areas at the national and international levels. 
 
DIBRIS has a long-date experience coordinating international research projects, including FP7, H2020, and Horizon Europe.

The position involves no formal teaching (unless the candidate wants to). It does involve, however, lab mentoring.
