[visionlist] Postdoctoral position available at the University of Genoa on *Augmented Sensing for Inclusive Interaction*

A one-year Research Assistant Position (PostDoc) is available at the
University of Genoa, Bioengineering Group, starting March 1st, 2023.

The winner will have the opportunity to work on the research track of RAISE
project (https://unige.it/en/news/16143-raise-selected-for-pnrr), which
focuses on developing solutions that improve the level of engagement and
quality of  interaction among individuals and with the urban context,
focusing on in-depth analysis of the interaction needs of abled and
impaired individuals.
The focus of this post-doctoral fellowship is the definition and validation
of methodologies to enrich interaction and communication between
individuals and environment, by focusing on cross-modal translations of
sensory information. Examples of specific enabling technologies: Virtual
Reality, Augmented Video and Audio Reality, sonification and 3D audio
spatialization, tangible interfaces.


Annual gross salary € 23.250,00. The position may be renewed for a second
year.

YOUR SKILLS
-------------------------------------
A master degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Electronic
Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Psychology, or equivalent is required.
Although not mandatory, a PhD degree would be an add-on. The ideal
applicant should be a recent PhD graduate in Computer Science, Robotics, or
Bioengineering. They would have a solid background in Computer programming,
Perceptual rendering systems, Cross-modal integration: psychophysical
experiments and models. Specific experience in Unity and VR/AR/XR systems
would be a plus. Applicants should demonstrate the
ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.

Robotics, and Systems Engineering (DIBRIS) of the University of Genova (

NOTES

The position involves no formal teaching (unless the candidate wants to).
It does involve, however, lab mentoring.
The salary – is rather competitive, considering the lower cost of living in
Italy compared to other Countries. Also note tax incentives for researchers
