We are looking for a PhD candidate at The Department of Computer Science at the Norwegian University of science and Technology (NTNU)
About the position
A three-year PhD position is available at the Department of Computer Science at the Gjøvik campus of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
This PhD position is devoted to the development of a new framework to guarantee a high quality of visual information in video communications between the paramedics on the field and doctors in the hospital. The main objectives of this work will be focused on the introduction of a new real-time optimization solution for efficient perceptual quality evaluation and enhancement of the delivered video stream. The solutions which most likely be based on using different machine learning techniques must integrate the constraints and specificities related to the medical context and more particularly the decision support with the maximum of reliable and relevant visual information.

The application must include:
* CV, certificates and diplomas
* transcripts and diplomas for bachelor's and master's degrees. If you have not completed the master's degree, you must submit a confirmation that the master's thesis has been submitted or the approximate time it will be submitted. Documentation of a completed master's degree must be presented before taking up the position.
* Copy of a maximum three of your publications you see relevant to the position.
* A draft research proposal (maximum three pages) where the candidate presents her/his own ideas for the PhD-work and how it can be applied, based on the project description given in this advertisement. This proposal will be neither final nor binding for the project.
* Certificate of English proficiency exam (IELTS or TOEFL)
* Names and contact information of at least two references.
