*Postdoctoral Research Associate in Active Virtual Real-World Colour 
Vision*

Applications are invited for a three-year postdoctoral research 
opportunity in "Active Virtual Real-World Colour Vision" at the 
University of Manchester, UK. The project is funded by the Leverhulme 
Trust and is led by David Foster in the Department of Electrical and 
Electronic Engineering and Paul Warren in the Division of Psychology, 
Communication & Human Neuroscience. The aim of the project is to test 
limits on real-world colour perception by individuals free to observe 
and move while immersed in realistic, natural 3D environments.

The project is due to start April 2023 or as soon as possible 
thereafter. Salary will be £34,308 to £42,155 per annum, depending on 
experience.

Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline 
and experience with vision research, especially in psychophysics, 
colour vision, coding for computer-controlled displays, and image 
processing. They should also have good organizational skills, 
professional competence with English, and a record of peer-reviewed 
publication. Familiarity with virtual reality systems would be an 
advantage.
