Recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow/ Research Associate at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

A postdoctoral/ research associate position is immediately available in the School of Optometry at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The position is linked to a large-scale research project concerned with the use of non-invasive brain stimulation and perceptual learning to improve visually impaired patients’ functional vision and quality of life. Techniques involved in the project include functional magnetic resonance imaging, non-invasive brain stimulation and vision science. The work is primarily based in the lab of Allen Cheong, with close collaboration with Prof Ben Thompson at University of Waterloo (primarily on non-invasive brain stimulation) and Dr Dorita Chang at University of Hong Kong (primarily on brain-imaging research).

Experience in any of these areas (fMRI, EEG and visual psychophysics) is required, but skill in any two would be even more helpful. Experience with MATLAB/Python programming is highly preferable.

The appointment is initially for one year, renewable year by year for as many as three years. Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience.
